  • Internet Service Providers

Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) provide customers with the means necessary for accessing, using, or participating in the Internet, including such services as Internet access, Internet transit, domain name registration, web hosting, Usenet service, and colocation (facilities providing space, power, cooling, and security for the server, storage, and networking equipment, connecting them to a variety of telecommunications and network service providers).

Datacenters (housing computer systems and necessary components) are typically organized by Tier:

    Tier 1 Internet Service Provider

Nationwide Internet Service Provider that peers with every other Tier 1 network and can reach all major networks on the internet. Typically has more than 1,000,000 subscribers, although typical subscriber count is usually 20,000,000+.

    Tier 2 Internet Service Provider

Regional Internet Service Provider that peers with most other regional networks and many Tier 1 providers, but still purchases transit or pays for peering to reach other parts of the internet. Tier 2 providers tend to be multi-state providers. Typically has 10,0000-1,000,000 subscribers.

    Tier 3 Internet Service Provider

Local Internet Service Provider that solely purchases transit/peering from other networks to access the Internet. These networks tend to cover less than one state and may only cover a city or county. Typically has less than 100,000 subscribers.

  • IPTV

Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) delivers television services using the Internet protocol suite over a network such as a LAN (Local Area Network) or the Internet, instead of being delivered through traditional terrestrial, satellite signal, and cable television formats. This IPTV system allows a company to offer broadband services and deliver television without the traditional headaches associated with cables, truck rolls, set top boxes, rooftop dishes or even the wait for the “cable guy.”

IPTV provides hundreds of channels that can be viewed on multiple devices, and IPTV is now available in several convenient packages for immediate customer offerings. IPTV allows a provider to increase revenue, reduce capital costs and decrease customer service tickets without adversely affecting existing bandwidth usage. IPTV offers not only extensive line-ups, premium channels and local channels but also superior bandwidth.

Any user with an IP device such as a tablet, laptop and smart phone can avail IPTV service anytime and anywhere as long as the user has access to high speed broadband internet. IPTV allows for the broadcast of live TV signals to any smart device and a television set through private broadband networks, while providing high definition and ultra-high definition quality and Video on Demand (VOD).
